Kellan Lutz doesn`t want to be seen as a sex symbol
The actor shot to fame playing vampire Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga and has now posed shirtless and soaking wet for Interview magazine. Even though the actor was happy to show off his chiselled physique for the photoshoot, Kellan claims he feels uncomfortable with the attention paid to his looks. He has shrugged off comparisons to other Hollywood hunks, insisting he doesn?t think he is that attractive.
"It`s funny when people say you have sex appeal or call you the next Brad Pitt," Kellan said. "I just laugh. I`m not that. I don`t want to be that. `You`re a sex icon.` Why? Because I played a vampire in a movie? It`s all very unearned. If I had the best freaking abs in the world or if I looked like Brad Pitt does in Fight Club, then cool, but I`m not starving myself. I eat what I want, and I`m not a workout fiend. My genetics are good, but they aren`t crazy He-Man style. I don`t get it, but I appreciate it."
The 25-year-old star has modelled for Calvin Klein and Abercrombie and Fitch, but insists he doesn`t want to rely on his looks to land more movie roles. He is determined to be taken seriously as an actor and can next be seen in a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street.
"It just blows my mind how many people think that because I was a model, I think I`m pretty and that I can use my looks to get ahead," Kellan added to Interview magazine. "I`m not pretty!"
